Useful advice requires context. Meaningful progress requires action. TJ&Co. works closely enough to understand the organisation, its people and the practical realities shaping the work, while retaining the independence needed to ask difficult questions, test assumptions and exercise clear judgement.
We begin by listening carefully: clarifying the outcome being sought, understanding how the present situation developed and examining the interests, constraints and established ways of working around it. This allows the real issue to be framed before effort is committed to a solution.
From there, the work remains proportionate and adaptable. Todd stays personally involved, communication remains direct and decisions are translated into action. We challenge constructively when required, adjust as evidence and circumstances evolve, and strengthen the client’s own capability so that progress can continue beyond the engagement.

We begin by understanding what leaders are seeking to achieve, why it matters, what has already been tried and what may be preventing progress. A familiar problem statement is not always the real problem.
Todd remains directly involved from initial thinking through to delivery. The person trusted to understand the challenge is the person accountable for the quality and usefulness of the work.
We do not impose a standard methodology or predetermined answer. Scope, pace, evidence, involvement and delivery are designed around the challenge and can evolve as understanding improves.
A sound recommendation is only useful if the organisation can act on it. Where needed, TJ&Co. remains involved to establish the work, coordinate stakeholders, build systems and maintain momentum.
We aim to leave clearer decisions, stronger systems, better capability and work that can continue without us.
Progress is not judged only by activity or completion. We remain attentive to the people affected by the work, the purpose it exists to serve and the responsible use of limited resources.
Sally Capp AO, Former Lord Mayor
This is not a proprietary methodology. It is a practical description of how disciplined work usually develops, deliberately adaptable rather than imposed on every client as a branded process.
An initial conversation allows us to consider the context, the outcome being sought and the capability required, then determine whether TJ&Co. is the right fit and what form of support would be most useful.
